Tilghman principal appreciates honor

Paducah Tilghman High School principal Art Davis is president of the statewide Kentucky Association of Secondary School Principals for the 2008-2009 school year.

“It’s a honor especially considering the people who were before me,” Davis said. “The officers are usually dominated by Louisville and Lexington principals.

Now to have a western Kentucky person again is an honor.”

Davis is also the first African-American president in the KASSP’s history, another honor that pleases Davis. “For any race, you think people have covered all areas before you. This makes me proud that others will succeed me.”
