“Tell Our Stories” is the theme of a joint project by students at Squires Elementary and Henry Clay High who hope to learn more about the early schools in Lexington and Fayette County.
If you have school memories or old photographs from the 1950s or earlier, the students would love to talk with you in their efforts to preserve this portion of their community’s history.
Residents are encouraged to drop by Henry Clay High School between 9 a.m. and noon Saturday, Jan. 19. Students will conduct interviews and record people’s stories as well as scan photographs and school-related documents that people bring to share.
The high school is at 2100 Fontaine Road; signs inside will direct people to the project area. A second session is planned for Saturday, Feb. 23.
