Five local boards endorse Draud
'He's qualified for the job'

Members of five local school boards are endorsing Jon Draud as Kentucky's next commissioner of education.

"We've known for a long time he's qualified for the job, and we want the governor-elect to know that," Beechwood Independent Board of Education Chairman Mike Dammert said.

Dammert rallied support for Draud from superintendents of the Beechwood, Boone County, Erlanger, Kenton County and Ludlow school districts...

...Asked about Beshear's request, Dammert replied that he didn't know if Beshear wanted to board to start again from scratch, or merely solicit more applications. But even if the board were to look for more candidates, it couldn't find a better one than Draud, he said...
